Project Performance Dashboards (PPD)
The Project Performance Dashboards provide a powerful lens into the data, so community stakeholders can gain insight into the effectiveness of programs, and the overall effectiveness of the homeless response system. It is important to note that while the project level counts are de-duplicated, viewing charts on the project type level or any summation of multiple projects will not be de-duplicated due to the aggregate nature of the data.
Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
The dashboards are built on data that is part of the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). Every community is required by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to use HMIS to collect client-level data and data on the provision of housing and services to homeless individuals and families and persons at risk of homelessness. HUD uses HMIS to enforce rigorous requirements and standards in support of a data-driven response to homelessness. Data is collected at the program level for each person. The highly structured data relies on linking participants within families and tracking key information over five data collection stages: creating the record; enrollment in a program; annually; when there are changes; and, at program exit.
Annual Performance Reports (APR)
These dashboards are built off the results generated from project-level performance reports. The Annual Performance Reports, which assess projects on data quality and key outcome metrics.
These dashboards are built off the results generated from project-level performance reports. The terms for each element are defined by HUD in the HMIS Data Standards.
